Our Founding Story

Ebony Women Health Corps was founded in response to the urgent crisis of Black maternal mortality and maternal mental health disparities. After experiencing medical neglect, racism, and life-threatening childbirth complications, founder Neshé Conley recognized the need for an organization that prioritizes Black women’s voices, health, and survival.

Through cultural competency training, public health programs, and direct community support, EWHC works to ensure that Black mothers and birthing individuals receive the respectful, high-quality care they deserve. By turning lived experiences into action, EWHC is committed to advocating, educating, and transforming Black maternal health outcomes.

Our Mission

At Ebony Women Health Corps (EWHC), we are committed to eliminating racial disparities in Black maternal and mental health by providing advocacy, education, and direct support. Through community-driven initiatives, cultural competency training, and public health programs, we work to ensure that Black women and birthing individuals receive the respectful, high-quality care they deserve.

Conley Cares Foundation (CCF) extends this mission by providing grief support, scholarships, and resources for families and children impacted by Black maternal health disparities. Together, we are building a future where Black mothers, children, and families don’t just survive—but thrive.
